Welcome to Les Pages aux Folles, a collection of satirical writings and comedic doodles. The most recently written articles can be found in the New section; two or three will appear each Sunday. I now also rotate two cartoons (My Toronto and/or Delicate Negotiations); while the latest will appear on this page every Sunday, recent cartoons can be found on the appropriate pages in the New section. Collections of older material (currently numbering 24: 18 books of prose and six of cartoons) appear in the Archive.

Big Changes To the Little Ol' Web Site

There will be some major bookization happening at Les Pages aux Folles in 2013, including four new collections of articles. Even More Blatant Self-promotion (As If There Could Ever Be Enough)

I have done a couple of new interviews to promote the novel Welcome to the Multiverse*. First up is an interview with Michel (Mike) Plested on the Irreverent Muse Web site. It actually starts with a very nice review of the book - twofer!

My good friend Stephen Pearl conducted an interview with me at the end of a long day at the Ad Astra science fiction convention, so we were both suitably punchy. Stephen also attended the launch of the novel at the con and recording me reading the first chapter. It gives a bit of a flavour.

And, there's a new review! The Mole writes that Welcome to the Multiverse* is "A great read that is highly entertaining and while it is funny throughout it isn't the kind of story that relies on one-liners and punchlines..." I have only just started it, so it may be a little sparse at the moment, but I will add content based on what people post they would like to see. Within reason.

I had a delightful interview with Morgen (with an "E") Bailey over at her blog. Then, I wrote a guest post for the Indie House Books blog. And, to top it off, I was interviewed at the Artists First Web site. Slowly, but surely, my dastardly satiric plans are being revealed to the public! Enjoy.

THIS JUST IN: The first review of Welcome to the Multiverse* has appeared! (And, when I say the first review, I really mean the second review, but the first worth talking about. "[T]o be honest," the reviweer wrote, "this book is one of the funniest sci-fi books I've ever read.” You can read the entire review on Rising Shadow. Woot woot!

Other reviews have been trickling in, and they have generally been positive. Seregil of Rhiminee called it "[O]ne of the funniest sci-fi books I've ever read.' at the Rishing Shadow Web site. Geoff Nelder wrote on Cafe Doom: "Yes, like all the other stories by Ira Nayman, this is hilarious and yet the reader is poked into thinking beyond the conventional." Meanwhile, over at Boom Baby Reviews, Mia Darien wrote: "Ira Nayman is, without a doubt, totally insane. I mean, really bug-nuts crazy... As such, you can imagine that his stories are about the same. And they are. But they're really funny, which is what makes them pretty awesome."

I well and truly blush. In a good way.

Your Immortality Is Ensured! Sorta... More Or Less...

Ask Amritsar and Ask the Tech Answer Guy, the two advice columns produced by the Alternate Reality News Service, are now a weekly feature of Les Pages aux Folles. I'm not sure how this is going to work out, but it's nice to see the Web site continue to evolve. Now that the advice columns are a regular feature, I need reader input more than ever! If you have a grave concern or a passing wonderment that you think one of our advice columnists can answer, I want to hear from you. You may have noticed that there are little colourful squares on each page on the Web site. That isn't a cheap way to get more graphics on my pages to please my Web Goddess. Well, not only that. Those graphics are actually links to various social networking and recommendation sites. If you like something you read here, please take a moment and tell people there.
