Thank you, Unhealthy Planet, Inc., for signing up for The Daily Me. Our search engine has combed the Internet for up to the minute news items that fit the profile you have so painstakingly filled out for us. Then, we weighted the probability that you would be interested in these articles against forms which showed what people with tastes similar to yours have liked reading in the past. And, then, we wondered if Olivia Benson (Law and Order: Special Victims Unit) was related to Benton Fraser (Due South). Maybe they were distant cousins or something like that. It certainly gave us pause: why would a fictional American cop be related to a fictional Canadian cop? Then, we did a little research and realized that her last name was his first name. And that they were spelled differently, so, technically, not even the same name. Technically. Man, if we weren't already waaaaay past deadline...
Enjoy,

Trump Could Call It A Slush Fund If He Believed In Global Warming
The United States hijacked a Venezuelan oil tanker in international waters and sold off its contents for $500 million. What is going to happen to the money?

Venezuela will get all of the $500 million generated by the American seizure of an oil tanker and the sale of its contents
Venezuela will get $300 million generated by the American seizure of an oil tanker and the sale of its contents right away; the other $200 million will be kept in a bank account in Qatar to be released to Venezuela eventually
The $200 million in a bank account in Qatar will be moved into the American treasury...at some undisclosed date...
YOU ARE HERE: The $200 million in a bank account in Qatar will be audited some day...at taxpayer expense...using an auditor acceptable to President Trump...
Everybody in the administration and sympathetic media will argue that the President has every right to control the $200 million dollars taken from the $500 million sale of the contents of a Venezuelan oil tanker the US hijacked
Everybody in the administration and sympathetic media will argue that only a terrorist enemy of the state would demand to know what the President is doing with the $200 million taken from the $500 million sale of the contents of a Venezuelan oil tanker the US hijacked
Oh, look! The United States has just invaded Greenland!

YOU: "What about the second amendment?"
THEM: "Everybody has an absolute right to carry firearms wherever and whenever they want."
YOU: "What about protests or confrontations with the police?"

She Was A Unicorn...With A Grating Voice And Annoying Mannerisms
Famed comedian Catherine O'Hara has died suddenly at the age of 71. As far as anybody knows, she was a completely normal human being. She did not have a difficult childhood. She was not addicted to drugs, alcohol, porn or coffee enemas. Her marriage was strong. Given the ordinariness of her life, the source of her comedy genius is a complete mystery.

She Will Be Remembered As An Inspiration To Women Nowhere
Melaniadirected by Brett "The Rat" Ratner
This documentary about the life of the First Lady of the United States is wildly successful at portraying her as an empty, soulless creature devoted to the accumulation of wealth and power. A perfect mate for Donald Trump, then.
Unfortunately, it was intended to humanize Melania Trump, which makes it a complete and utter failure on its own terms.

As We Always Say At The DOJ: "The Best Defence Is A Good Weapon And Military Training!"
Everybody from Kristi Noem and Stephen Miller to Donald Trump and the Tooth Fairy has argued that the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti by ICE agents were necessary because the agents feared for their lives and the lives of their fellow officers. That justification is getting pushback from an unlikely source: local police.
"We've been using the self-defence defence against charges of police brutality for decades, with great success," stated National Association of Police Organizations President Michael McHale. "But you have to pick your moments. When there is an avalanche of video showing that your officers were never seriously under threat is not one of them. Homeland Defence may be undermining the self-defence defence, putting local law enforcement officers at risk of facing justice for their acts of violence!"
President Trump waved the criticism away. "I'll pardon any law enforcement official accused of misconduct," he assured the cops. Given the success he has had so far with pardoning Tina Peters, McHale was not reassured. Not in the least.
